Shooting on tape is supposedly cheaper than film, and this slate is cheaper too. It doesn't have sticks, but on tape you don't need them..... do you? The 'sound' area is detailed for professional shooting, and there is a black/60% gray/white scale on the bottom that gives an accurate stair-step on a waveform.
