"The Lucy Dance"
August 25th, 2007
CRUSH
DAY 2007
our sixth annual crush day
We
were honored with over 40 'Lucys' !
Thank you all for adding
to the festivity of the day!
We'll
do this again in 2008 - Saturday August 30th
Once
a year we have a public "crush" day...
We have newly
harvested fruit that we invite you to help crush - the first
step in making wine.
We call this "The Lucy Dance" after
the "I Love Lucy" episode where she crushed grapes
in a big barrel.
Here
are the details:
Winery
opens at Noon Sharp
We do a little ceremony to open the actual crushing at 1 PM
Stomping Grapes - 1:15 to 5 - this is a freeform thing; get
in the bin as you please.
No competitions, just silly fun.
(Yes, we require that you wash your feet before you get in the bins. Please
also help us out by not wearing any lotions or creams on your legs or feet.)
Live Music: The Trinity River Whalers from
2 to 5
They have written fun and silly songs just for this day
Group
picture of all Lucys at 3 PM
Winery closes at 6
If
you come dressed as Lucy we'll give you
a bottle of Texas Kiss
on us!
(you must be 21+, otherwise you get soda pop ;-))
Here
are more details:
We
do not take reservations - all seating is first come, first
served.
We will have every seat we own set up but it wouldn't
hurt to bring a camping chair.
Admission:
$20 per person
This includes stomping,
the live music and a souvenir glass.
It
does not include wine or food. Both will be for sale.
The kitchen will be open from Noon to 5.
Only
those 16 and older will be admitted.
We do not make exceptions. This is adult play time.
